Cebu, PHILIPPINES (January 14, 2010)

Filmmakers / Students Hone their Skills at International Academy of Film and Television’s Short-Term Workshops

The International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) continues to expand its Diploma Program in Filmmaking (DPF) with a new articulation agreement with Jacksonville University. Under the terms of the agreement, IAFT’s DPF students can transfer credits to Jacksonville University B.A. in Film program in Jacksonville, Florida in the United States, while Jacksonville University film students can complete their B.A. degree at IAFT. The agreement exemplifies IAFT’s commitment to providing flexible options for students to receive a high-quality film education for the global entertainment market.

The IAFT / Jacksonville University articulation agreement allows graduates of IAFT’s one-year Diploma Program in Filmmaking to transfer their credits to Jacksonville film program so that they can complete their four-year B.A. in Film program in three years. Reciprocally, upon satisfying their core, university and other program requirements, Jacksonville B.A. in Film students can fulfill their degree by completing their final year in IAFT’s DPF.

“As we enter 2010, IAFT is dedicated to expanding opportunities for our students to study film all over the world. We firmly believe that a global experience engenders the best growth and success in the entertainment industry,” said Keith Sensing, Executive Director, International Academy of Film and Television. “Our reciprocal agreement with Jacksonville University’s film program gives students from both schools the chance to explore film history, theory and criticism along with hand-on production experience while also broadening their cultural understanding and contacts in preparation for their future careers.”

IAFT offers Diploma Programs in Filmmaking and Performing Arts, as well as Certificate Programs in Filmmaking, Performing Arts and Sound Design. The school also offers short-term workshops in specific subjects in all three disciplines throughout the year at IAFT’s main campus in Cebu as well as Los Angeles.
